You've heard of hydrangea temple "ajisaidera", but how about hydrangea shrines? There are hundreds if not thousands of shrines with hydrangea on their grounds around Japan, but only a few are renowned for their hydrangea display. Enter Sashiogi Hikawa Shrine! Sashiogi Hikawa Shrine is an unassuming neighborhood shrine. However, in June when the hydrangea bloom it attracts visitors from near and far. There are hundreds of hydrangea on the shrine grounds and you can get a picture of the picturesque shrine surrounded by hydrangea. The location is best visited by public transport. It is located in a residential area with narrow roads and only has a very small car park.
