Fabulous bistro food
Vodka is a clever play on words - 魚火 uoka, fish fire, sounds a lot like vodka. And the word play is indicative of the playful way the chefs combine cuisines and flavors. Standards like sashimi go great with other creative ones like the mountain of crisp fried gobo with tender chicken salad. Diners are invited to crush the tower with an inverted bowl. And nikku jaga pie is a delightful fusion of British meat pie in pastry crust and the Japanese home favorite simmered meat and potatoes. The ankake tofu is one of my favorite side dishes there. Lunch menus are ¥500, but dinner can be a bit pricey. We consider it a place for birthdays and welcoming visitors.
