Cosmos Arena Fukiage

Cosmos Arena Fukiage is a facility for residents of Konosu City in the suburbs of Saitama Prefecture. For the most part, it is a pretty standard municipal facility with meeting rooms and sport facilities. However, every year in October Cosmos Arena Fukiage attracts thousands upon thousands of visitors. The reason: 12 million (give or take!) cosmos that bloom in the flood plains of the Arakawa right in front of the main Cosmos Arena building. The sight is something to behold. Flowers as far as the eye can see. On the grounds there is a small playground which would entertain small children for a short period of time. Within the main building there are toilets and drink vending machines. Parking is free and plentiful. In a non pandemic year there is also a cosmos festival for a weekend during prime viewing of the cosmos flower. But the festival was not on in either 2020 or 2021 even though the flowers were grown and open to the public.
