    Tonkotsu Ramen and Fried Rice

Using a special coupon for those living in our neighborhood, we went to have lunch at Kuiyoiten. It's a small ramen restaurant where we've seen lines forming sometimes. We went for late lunch at around 2pm on a weekday, but people still came in to eat and the restaurant was almost full. We could get a free topping on our ramen with the coupon, so we each got ramen with a topping and the gyoza set. Mine was regular ramen plus egg, gyoza set, 800 yen including tax. The ramen was good tonkotsu broth, typical for this area. We wondered about the fried rice though, as most people were ordering ramen with the 'cha-han' set. Kuiyoi is in the Kokubu neighborhood of Kurume, near the Kokubu bus stop on line 3 from Nishitetsu Kurume Station. Closed on Wednesdays and open 11-16 for lunch plus 17-22 for dinner.
