Fukutoku Inari Shrine

Breathtaking!

This shrine originally wasn’t on our itinerary for Yamaguchi - it was just a lucky find that we happened to drive past. We’re so glad we stopped in, because I can say without question it’s probably the most beautiful shrine I’ve visited in all of Japan. The views out over the ocean literally made me gasp with how beautiful it is. Best of all, there were only a couple of other people there so it was a really special experience. It’s up a hill so it’s easiest accessed by car, and there is parking available at the site.
