Pretty (and free!) gardens, including a giant indoor greenhouse

Many parks these days charge admission fees for entrance, so we were surprised to come across Honai Park, which has a giant indoor tropical greenhouse - all for the princely sum of zero yen! It was amazing to see the array of plants on display which included things like hibiscus, coffee, pineapple, mango and more. The grounds are well maintained and there's also a rose garden which had a large number of variants, and a small Japanese garden. Signage for the plant species is in both Japanese and English, so you'll know what you're looking at! There's parking available at the site, we visited on a public holiday and it wasn't crowded at all so I doubt there would ever be issues with finding a spot. Worth a visit if you're in the area!
