Great location
The Ikea in Tachikawa is located next to the beautiful Showa Kinen Park. Like all Ikea, it is well laid out and they have a great range of homeware, with some beautiful displays which give interior design ideas. Its quite large, so quite a bit of walking. It is also close to Lalaport Tachikawa if you want a day of shopping.

Great for furniture, homewares, and food
Ikea in Tachikawa is convenient to get to for Tokyoites, and there's plenty of onsite parking available. I've found it to be an economically friendly place to get furniture, homewares, and even food. I particularly like their cribs for kids and toddler beds (we used the Sundvik style for our little ones, and they held up wonderfully). I recommend checking out the food court and the retail food store area! Lots of gems to be found.
