Cross from Honshu to Kyushu underwater!

If you want a unique experience when you’re in either Yamaguchi or Fukuoka, you can actually walk from Honshu to Kyushu or vice versa. The Kanmon Pedestrian Tunnel is free to walk through, and connects the islands under the sea! It’s a bit under a kilometer in length so it’s quite easy to walk from one side to the other, and there are distance markers along the way so you know how far you have left. We actually saw quite a few runners using it as a way to keep track of their distance - and I guess it’s a good way to be able to get your exercise in without being exposed to the elements! There’s a half way marker as well where you can take a happy snap with one foot in Kyushu and one foot in Honshu.
