Historical temple with great views

Ryukoji faces Enoshima on the shore of Fujisawa City. It's worth a visit for the history and the sea views. The temple was originally an execution ground and one famous inmate of the cells there was Saint Nichiren. When he was about to be executed here, a flash of light distracted the executioner and he was spared. It's a place laden with dramatic historical connections. The temple is noted for its pagodas and views of the bay. On a clear day you can see Fujisan from here.
