Mine no Chaya 峰の茶屋

Cozy, excellent soba

At the junction of the Shiraito Highland Way and the Asama Highway is this small chaya. It's no frills but the soba noodles are excellent. We chose sansai soba laden with mountain vegetables. This was probably the best sansai soba I've ever had - flavourful, tender veggies cooked just right, a well-balanced broth, and Shinshu soba. The chaya is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Note that it's one stop beyond Shiraito Waterfall bus stop. The chaya only accepts cash payments.
