Great Last Stop for Yonezawa Souvenirs

If you took a road trip to Yonezawa in Yamagata and forgot to pick up omiyage souvenirs and gifts along the way, this place is the stop for you. Located right next to the paid highway junction, this building contains a small food court, decent bathrooms, a large shopping area and even a 7-11, which is really useful if you need to use an ATM or grab more standard beverages or snacks. The items for sale in the shopping area range from traditional wooden dolls and woven cloth to fresh produce and grocery items. I highly recommend the jams, which come in many varieties and are far less sweet than their mass-produced competitors. The kids section even has little houses to sit in while you enjoy a drink or snack before getting back on the road. This was a great stop for us before heading back to Miyagi.
