Family friendly, reasonably priced restaurant on highway

The Royal Hanyu canteen is a sit down restaurant with table service on the Tohoku Expressway in the outbound (away from Tokyo) Hanyu Parking Area. Even during lunch hour on a busy weekend there were tables available with little to no waiting time. The staff were particularly accommodating, friendly and helpful. We were able to relax and take our time despite it being a busy period. What drew us to the restaurant over the food court (apart from there being no queue) is that they have lovely children's meals that are served in a little red fire truck. They also have a gift for children: each of the children got a coin to use in a gachopon of their choice even if they didn't order the kids meal. The main menu is mainly burgers with vegetables and rice. You can get drink bar for an additional charge. The kids meal comes with drink bar automatically. The restaurant is very reasonably priced. The kids meal with drink bar is less than 700 yen and the regular meals are priced between 800 and 1200 yen.
