Shobu Parking Area

Large parking area on the Ken-o expressway

The Shobu parking area is a service area shared by both the inbound and outbound traffic of the Ken-o expressway. The parking lots are separate: one on either side of the service area main facilities building. The Shobu parking area is the last parking area before the Ken-o and Tohoku expressways' interchange going east. And the first parking area you encounter when you change from the Tohoku expressway to the Ken-o heading to Hachioji, Tokyo and beyond. It is a relatively new parking area which opened about a year ago. They have plenty of car parking spaces, but not enough eateries to cope with the crowds. There is a restaurant, a cafe and a shop. The shop sell out of bento and onigiri very quickly. The shop has a good selection of souvenirs, mainly food produce, for the kanto region. The parking area is clean and fairly comfortable. There is a great selection of vending machines.
