Fishing and jewel hunting

Itoigawa is famous for jade and supposedly you can find jade on many of the beaches in the area. They are stone beaches, so if you are looking for a sandy beach, drive on by. This spot was good for my family of six, because it was beside a river and my son could fish, while some hunted for jewels on the beach and others paddled their feet. There is an area cornered off for swimming. This section is right beside a parking lot - a rough and ready parking lot!
