    Stunning at night

Firstly, I think Kobe is so underrated as a city - I really enjoyed it when I visited. The whole area around the waterfront/harbor is nice for a stroll, but the Kobe Port Tower is clearly the star of the show on the skyline. It's 700 yen to head inside the port tower, but if you really just want to enjoy the look of the tower you can obviously do that from outside and save yourself the admission fee. It's lovely to wander around the area at night when the tower is illuminated!

Take a quick break and see over Kobe

Kobe Port Tower is a great place to take a quick break while looking out over Kobe. Enjoy the 360-degree observation deck, buy some cute Kobe limited edition goods such as socks, keychains and other souvenirs, and then take a seat and relax at the circular rotating cafe. It goes around once roughly every 20 minutes, and they serve a range of typical Japan-cafe fare, such as tea and coffee (of course), and the super sweet, bright green melon soda. The staff speak enough English to help you out. Don't get caught out- you have to pay after you order, not after you eat and drink!
