Retro vibes at this simple restaurant

Yagi Chaya is a restaurant in Sanjo with some Showa era vibes, and they serve up hearty meals such as curry and ramen. They've got both Western-style table seating and low floor tables with cushions, and on my visit there were plenty of open spots to choose from. While the food was probably three out of five stars, I would bump the overall rating up by one because of the atmosphere.
