Ishidahama Beach

Beach area with lifeguard and facilities

Ishidahama Beach is a gravel / stone beach with some spots of sand. So, it's good for stone collecting too. This section of coast in Toyama and up through to Itoigawa in Niigata seems to be predominantly gravel / stone beaches. But what I liked about Ishidahama Beach is that there were plenty of lifeguards on duty when we visited. They are only in the area that is marked off by buoys, so it is best to swim in that area for safety. There are also toilets, places to wash off and plenty of free parking in the area.
