Suzuran Dori すずらん通り

Lively shopping and dining street

Right outside Omiya Station's east exit, you'll see the orange awning of Suzuran-dori, the narrow covered shopping street. The atmosphere reminds a lot of people of Osaka's dense and busy shopping arcades. It's very narrow and packed with lots of casual dining spots. According to Saitama City's official website, there are maneki neko statues placed along the street. I spotted one! But it seems some of the cats have been snatched by mischievous visitors. I like to get a quick and cheap dinner here when I visit Saitama City.
