8 million cosmos flowers
Yoshimi Cosmos Flower fields grow approximately eight million cosmos flowers each year. Although it is two thirds the size of the famous Konosu fields, it feels a lot smaller. To be honest, it really doesn't seem like there are about eight million cosmos. However, it is picturesque and on a clear day you can see Mt Fuji in the background, although about 160 kilometers away! There is a festival at the Yoshimi cosmos fields when there is no pandemic on. It is usually a weekend around the middle of October. However, there was no festival in 2020 or 2021 on account of the coronavirus. In 2021, the flowers were grown and are open to the public. In 2020, they didn't even grow the flowers. There is parking nearby at the Ichigo no Sato roadside station, which is a nice place to pick up an ice-cream.
