Historic temple in Tokyo
Jindaiji Temple is a great spot to check out if you've already done the big, packed temples in Tokyo (looking at you, Sensoji) but still want something filled with history...just not with the crowds. The temple has an impressive history dating back to 733, and surrounding the temple area there are a bunch of soba shops. Apparently this area of Tokyo wasn't great for growing rice back in the day, but buckwheat grew super well! The surrounds of the temple itself are particularly pretty in autumn if you have the opportunity to visit then.
