Awesome tea store with an online shop, too

If you're a tea aficionado, you're going to love the town of Mori in Shizuoka. There's just so many incredible tea-related places to visit in this area of the country, and Osadaen Honten is a real gem. You'll find everything here from tea wares (the tea "incense burners" are such a neat gifting idea!) through to tea mugs, and plenty of the leafy stuff itself available for purchase. The staff were generous with allowing us to sample different things, allowing you to really understand what you'd be purchasing. A highlight of the region!

For the very best organic green tea and expert guidance

Organic certification is very hard to come by in Japan. The process and paperwork for acquiring certification put many places off even applying. So I was suitably impressed when I learnt that Osada Seicha is one of a very few organically certifitied tea purveyors in Japan. Osadaen Honten is the retail shop of Osada Seicha. They offer a number of products, all carefully cultivated, managed, selected and manufactured by an expert team. Among their team is an 8th Dan tea tater who is also a champion of many Tea tasting competitions. One of the staff speak fluent, practically native, English. All of the staff are completely knowledgeable in all things tea. And to top it all off, they are approachable, friendly and helpful. One of their most popular products and frequent award winner of the World Green Tea Contest is "Yamabuki Nadeshiko". It is made from organic Japanese green tea but fermented in a different way so that it ends up looking more like black tea. I have no hesitation in recommending Osadaen in Morimachi as one of the best places to purchase fine quality organic tea. It is open 8.30 am to 6 pm seven days a week. You can also purchase their products online, in English, at https://osadatea.com/products.html . They have a large car park with a beautiful red parasol over a seating area and a statue that is said to bring good luck if you rub its head. The closest station is Morimachi Byoin Mae Station on the Tenryu Hamanako Tetsudo Line.
