Place Looks Rundown, but it’s Alright Overall
I am a bit conflicted with this one. As the title mentions, the place is a bit old and rundown-looking. The interior is all counter seating and most of the chairs feel wobbly or on the cusp of collapsing under the weight of a body. While the counter itself is quite clean, the age of the restaurant shows. The food is, as I have come to expect from grungy restaurants, quite good. On any given day there are only three types of curry on the menu at different levels of spiciness. I ordered a chicken curry and a pork curry for a lunch set when I visited and I found it to be quite delicious with a cheese naan. But my main gripe about this place is the service. There is a machine to order, so it eliminates some of the interaction with the owner, but the guy was still able to mistake what I wanted. I don’t know how hard it was to confuse three items but when I ordered chicken curry, the guy gave me vegetable curry. I even communicated with my fingers which curries I wanted according to his menu. Maybe he was tired that day.
