Accessible tea house and garden

Kashiwa no Ha Park in Kashiwa City is a great place to take in seasonal colors, barbeque in the summer, or just play in some open space. The tea house Shohakutei in the park is a treat. The garden surrounding it has classic strolling garden features with a pond, pavillion, waterfalls, and manicured plantings. The big picture window of the tsukiya-style tea house looks out over the garden. Note that the space has bench seating and serves tea to the public in the afternoons. Before noon, the tea house can be reserved for private tea ceremonies and haiku events by community members.
