Jiko-ji Temple

A stunning mountainside temple

Jiko-ji is a very special temple in Tokigawa town. It has a fascinating history, established more than 1300 years ago to protect a national treasure. It is highly regarded as one of the more prestigious temples. In addition, it is one of 33 temples on the Bando Kannon Temples pilgrimage in the Kanto area. It is located about 1000 meters above sea level on a spiritual mountain bountiful in nature and seasonal flowers. Despite its esteem, it is very much off the beaten path due to its remote location.
