This little cafe lies along Perry Road in Shimoda, a famous street with historical ties. If you enjoy cute, unique teahouses/coffee shops, you'll enjoy it here. The interior is warm and inviting - it feels like you're at someone's home - and there are a selection of both regular western style tables and chairs and traditional style seating where you sit on tatami mats. I just love the charm and appeal of this whole region of Japan, and the quaint, step back in time feel at Sogabo (as well as the frothy matcha latte and cheesecake) is worth popping in for.
