You can take a sightseeing ferry on Lake Towada from the Yasumiya area of Aomori Prefecture. It is one of the main and most popular attractions of Lake Towada. The ferry goes from Yasumiya harbor and you can buy tickets nearby at the (small) ferry terminal. The ride is reasonably priced and it only takes about 40 minutes. You can usually pick up a discount on the official website. The boat ride is a great way to see the various views on the lake. Autumn is a particularly good time for the ride as you can see all the autumn colors of the mature trees around the lake.
