Genghis Khan with friendly service
If you’re heading to Hokkaido, a must do on the foodie itinerary is trying Genghis Khan, or the Hokkaido take on a good old barbecue. In Genghis Khan the primary meat you’ll see served up is lamb, but at Sora they also served up venison too. They have plenty of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks on the menu, so you won’t go thirsty either. I’m not the biggest fan of lamb dishes, but went mainly for the experience, and it was fun! The atmosphere when everyone is grilling their food is very lively (albeit smokey!) and it makes for an enjoyable time. The owner of the restaurant is super thoughtful as well - large aprons are provided to try and protect your clothes from that smokey aroma as much as possible, but as you’re leaving he even sprays you down with a clothing deodorizer to make sure you can go about your day without smelling like a meat shop!
