Oki Rest Area Market
While in the neighborhood I stopped by a rest area (about a 15 minute walk from Hachomuta Station) in Oki Town. Rest areas or Michi no Eki in Japan are great for souvenirs and local food. I was excited to find locally grown fresh beets! There are also mushrooms, strawberries and tea. There's a buffet restaurant, gelato, and a couple goats in the back too. If you walk there from the station, you can discover this little mushroom pointing the way to get there.
