Upmarket groceries with prices to match
Meidi-ya is an upmarket-feeling grocery chain, and this branch at Niigata's CocoLo shopping complex is fun for a browse but wouldn't be somewhere I'd be completing my main weekly shop. They do have a great range of products though, with a lot of international fare included -- I even saw brands from my home country alongside domestically produced options. I do think it's probably a good grocery store if you're looking for something specific as they have a lot of niche things, but price-wise it's a bit high in price for me to buy from here regularly.
