Kawa no Eki Soka Mura 川の駅そうか村

A very quiet rest stop

The name of this place got me - Kawa no Eki rather than the more typical Michi no Eki for roadside stations. I found it a little mysterious - is it a shokudo or a rest stop? It actually has a huge dining hall, but when I visited in December 2022, the building was open but the kitchen dark and empty. Still, you can go in, have a seat at a table overlooking the river, and pick up local produce and gifts. I guess it's a good spot to take a break after a walk on the promenade before you head back to Soka Station.
