Small, Bakery-style, Slightly Pretentious

We came here after leaving a lunch date early due to the noise factor, so I'll admit that we weren't in the best moods and didn't have room to try the bread options, some of which looked interesting and potentially delicious. My husband ordered me a basic blend, which was more expensive than it should have been considering how basic and bland the flavor was. Ceramic mugs do not seem to be available and everything is issued in paper cups, though at least they have some kind of design to them. This follows up on a frankly unsatisfactory visit to their main Sendai branch in Aoba ward near Sendai Station, which had been startling on its own as two previous visits made with other foreigners had provided delicious results. I don't know if my husband and I caught them on an off day that time or if the staff had some grudge against our chubby-white-lady-with-a-Japanese-guy dynamic, but they are too expensive (and we are too offended) to bother trying that location again. The outlet mall location isn't much better, but we felt less like we alone were receiving something inadequate for the price charged. If you're in this mall, just go to Tully's instead.
