Nagatoro Station

In the official top 100, in my personal top 10!

Nagatoro station, a train station on the Chichibu Railway Line, is officially one of the top 100 scenic train stations in all of Kanto. For me, its in my top 10 stations in Saitama Prefecture. Its an old style station that looks much like it did 111 years ago when it was opened in 1911! It is very photogenic and quaint and there's lots of points of interest immediately around the station. However, please note, like many tourist areas in rural Japan, almost everything closes at night and trains are infrequent, unless there is a special event on. A highlight of this station is that the Paleo Express, the closest steam locomotive to Tokyo, stops at this station.
