Light-dappled forest time warp

This forested slope overlooking the shore of Teganuma is a little time warp. It's one of the city's eight heritage walking routes. The road below the forest is a time warp, with an abandoned shrine below a towering tree, the white wall of a farmhouse, and the satoyama landscape on the hillside. Teganuma is a significant bird landscape, and you'll hear song as you walk through the forest. The wayfinding map at the south exit of Abiko Station indicates a walking route that takes about 20 minutes.
