Cheapest way to clean a futon

If you've ever inquired about cleaning a futon with a laundry service or department store, you'll know it can cost anywhere up to 12,000 yen, which is often what you paid for the futon in the first place. Thankfully, there is a cheaper and quicker way to clean futons; in a coin laundry! This new coin laundry in Kawajima Town caught my eye because a large poster advertises their futon size washer / dryers. They also have a shoe washer / dryer which I haven't seen before. I have used another coin laundry in the past for washing futons, but it was an awful squeeze to get the futon in and I had to tie it with string. This coin laundry's machines are big enough that you don't have to take that step, in my experience anyway. This branch is small and despite it only being open a couple of months it is already very popular and gets a good flow of customers. My washing machine broke a few weeks ago and while I was waiting on my new one I had to use a coin laundry. Despite their being another coin laundry near me, that is actually cheaper, I chose to use this one because their machines are bigger, so I could do one big wash instead of two medium ones. It worked out cheaper in the long run. I had to wait to use the machines the first couple of times I went, but by my 3rd visit I intentionally went late in the morning and there were a few machines free. There is parking out the front for about 5 cars. There is a staff member there sometimes, but I don't know the schedule for staff. The building itself is open 6.30 am to 10.30 pm.
