Bistro Calme in the Mitsuke area of Niigata serves up modern French inspired eats, and the premises itself is nice and welcoming -- very clean and simple in its decor, which I liked. They have reasonably priced lunch sets for 1540 yen that come with an appetizer, main, salad, homemade bread, and a drink, which is great value for money and a ton of food. Closed on Tuesdays.
