Renkeiji

Prominent temple with dozens of events

Renkeiji is one of the most prominent temples in Kawagoe. It is involved in several of the larger annual events, hosting, for example, the opening ceremony of the Koedo Spring Festival and Tojin Soroi parade each year. It also has several markets throughout the year. This weekend it has an "imo" sweet potato market. The temple has a couple of cherry blossoms on the grounds which are pretty well known within Kawagoe. The red buddha statue is popular. You can sometimes see inside the temple for special occasions.
