A must for spring
Tulips are one of my favorite springtime flowers, and they grow in abundance in the Gosen area of Niigata. It's one of the prefecture's largest tulip growing areas, and there are around 1.5 million of them to appreciate. During typical years they have a festival when the flowers are at their best (not sure if the festival is happening yet this year!) so I recommend a visit if you're in the area.

Tulips in Gosen
One of my favorite Tulip viewing places in Niigata shi is Gosen. Gosen tulips festival start around mid april and ends in late april. This park has about 1.5 million tulips every year in countless varieties. They stand as tall as you and taking pictures in this park is just amazing. I am planning to go back this year as well.
