Great atmosphere in pub style Italian restaurant

There is a really great atmosphere in "Matilda", an Italian restaurant located close to the North exit of Kumagaya station. Its best known for its pizza, but I've yet to try that. But I can vouch for their chips (french fries), which are really yummy. Its okay to just drink here and that is what we did (with a few chips on the side!). The staff are really friendly and some of them speak excellent English. They even have an English menu. The house white isn't great, but they give you a generous helping if you order a glass. There are only a few tables, but there is counter space too. They also have a private room with a half door entrance! It's more like a pub than a restaurant. It is very reasonably priced. It's not unusual to have to wait for a seat as it is a very popular spot.
