Kitanoten Shrine

A special shrine

It was such a pleasure to visit Kitanoten Shrine in Tokorozawa and finding not only many things of interest, but also some plum blossoms in bloom. I had visited because it is a Tenjin‑shrine dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the deity of learning, scholarship, and the arts and I was praying for a "jukensei". But I had no idea it would have all sorts of additional photogenic spots. The spiritual aura was strong too.
