Hakodate Morning Market

Perfect stop for the early risers

If you're someone that wakes up early in the morning when you're visiting a new spot, the Hakodate Morning Market in Hokkaido is a great spot to check out. They are open from 5am until 12 noon daily (6am during the winter months) and they have the freshest of the fresh seafood. There are loads of restaurant spots scattered throughout the market, where you can grab some breakfast (or an early lunch!) - and enjoy the bounty of delicious stuff that has likely just come in that morning. One recommendation that I will make is that in my opinion, the earlier you get there the better. When we visited Hakodate, we tried to visit the market later in the morning on the first day we arrived - and it was a case of people everywhere! When we tried the following morning (bright and early!) it was a much more enjoyable experience.
