    Plenty of seating

Some restaurants/cafes at train stations end up being packed with commuters trying to grab a bite to eat, but I didn't find that to be the case at Wired Cafe. It's located at the Lumine 2 shopping complex at Omiya Station, and the seating area is pretty big so that even if it was busy I think you'd be able to find a spot. They've got loads of menu options including both sweet and savory -- pastas, salads, honey toast, and hamburger steak are just some of the options.

Catch up with friends in comfort and style!

Wired Café has proved a useful meeting spot in Omiya Station. It is about five minutes walk from both the central and North gates. Unlike some of the other more prominently located coffee shops, it is in an obscure enough location that it is protected from throngs of station traffic passerbys. However, thanks to its comfort, style and menu it is very popular with those that know it. The ambiance is chilled, the seats are comfortable, the coffee is good and the staff are friendly and helpful. The clientele is largely women. I was a bit taken aback when I walked in the first time to a room full of women. The three men in the crowd really stood out! Wired Café is a little expensive, but it is worth it in my opinion. It is also a little hard to find as it is on the 2nd floor of Lumine 2 right down the back in a corner, but, again, it is worth the effort if you would like a leisurely catch up with friends in the vicinity of the station.

Cafe that keeps me coming back

Most cafes situated in the shopping centers attached to train stations are almost never child friendly. This place is so supportive of the traveling momma. You wouldn't guess it by the look though. It has a classy yet laid back feel and is almost always busy, but I have never had a long wait to get inside. It is on the second floor of Lumine 2 and can be a bit difficult to find, especially if you are looking for the elevator to get upstairs. The staff are friendly, and the food is phenomenal. The first few times I went, I ordered the taco set, which came with a flour and corn tortilla. This past time though, they didn't have it on the menu, so I instead got biscuits and gravy. That was a first in Japan. The prices are typical of cafes, running about 1500 yen for lunch and a drink. Some of the specialty drinks are 500yen and they have an awesome dessert with nutella and sweet potato waffle fries. It is a great place to sit and chat and enjoy a meal with friends.
