Teien-no-sato Honai Rest Area

A unique rest area, worth a visit if you're in the area

The Teien-no-Sato Honai rest area is different to most you'll encounter, since it's literally packed full of different plant species, many of which are available for purchase. It's literally more like a garden center than what many of us would expect from a rest area, but it's refreshing - a bit like an oasis when you're on the road! As well as the plants and various garden ornaments/potting supplies available, there's also a section with local fruit and veg for sale - fresher than fresh. If you're hungry for something to eat there's an Italian Restaurant and a cafe on site too. Plenty of parking available, since it's a rest area, and it's in close proximity (around 5 minutes drive) from Honai Gardens.
