Shirasagi Forest Park

Great spot for seasonal flowers

If you like seasonal summery blooms like hydrangeas or irises, a good place to enjoy them in Niigata is at the Shirasagi Forest Park. There's usually an iris festival held each year for several weeks in June, and it's really pleasant to walk around on the boardwalk area and just take them all in. Outside the summer season they have a lot of other blooms to enjoy as well, such as cherry blossoms, azaleas, and Japanese maples for the autumn season.
