Fast service, fair trade coffee
For a quick lunch before an event at Chiba University, I dropped by Sukiya near the south exit of Nishichiba Station. For a little over 1000 yen, I got gyudon, pickles, soup, and a beer. In these times of rising inflation, this is a pretty economical and filling meal. By coincidence, the event at the university was a fair trade market. Zensho foods, which runs Sukiya, is a fair trade coffee purchaser. You can get excellent coffee here from growers who use environentally-friendly methods and are paid a fair price for their product. Service is friendly and polite. The orders can be made on the tablets placed at each table.
