Restaurant that combines Japanese/Western flavors

Little Bird is a restaurant in Niigata that does a good job of fusing Japanese and Western flavors for some unique meals. They have things on their menu like mentaiko carbonara and spaghetti in a tomato-based sauce with clams and Chinese cabbage, so it's definitely not what you'd call traditional Italian ;) The vibe here is lovely, though, with a cozy, rustic feel. They're closed every Wednesday and they do take a break between their lunch and dinner sittings, so keep that in mind if you plan to visit.
