Spectacular snorekling and scuba diving destination
This national park encompasses the islands of the Kerama group and the aquatic environment that surrounds them. The waters here are known as "Kerama blue", crystal clear, and filled with an abundance of fish, sea turtles, and coral reefs. On my visit, I snorkeled over reefs where I floated above the teeming sealife. Back on shore, I ranged around the lush tropical forest roads on a rented bicycle to find secluded beaches and campsites. The islands are quiet and uncrowded in the winter off-season, and although the air temperature is cool, the sea maintains a warm current tolerable in a wetsuit.
