    Come for the ocean

I really like this park for the view of the ocean, which is something I do not always have access to living away from the coast. The park itself is quite spacious with plenty of open space for yourself and your family. The view towards the ocean is nice because it comes with a view of the opened sky as well, without any buildings on either side of your vision. Being close to Chinatown means this is a great place for a walk before or after a meal. Definitely one of my favourite spots in Yokohama!

    Interesting park for history buffs

We've walked this park area on numerous occasions when in Yokohama, and it's a lovely spot for several reasons. It sits right by the port area, and if you're a history buff it's also interesting because it's right across from the famous Hotel New Grand (where General Douglas MacArthur stayed whilst in Japan). There are typically a variety of seasonal flowers planted in the park, adding to the beauty.

    Seafront park with seasonal flowers

Yamashita park is located right by the sea. It is a lovely way to walk from the Redbrick Warehouse area to the Gundam Factory. There are two piers along the way so you can see plenty of boats and ships. Moreover, there are facilities and attractions in the park. For example, the Snow Rose Garden which looks particularly pretty around this time of year (May). It is small, but photogenic. Also, there is a convenience store - with a play area - in the park. The park often hosts events and live performances. We've enjoyed a few street performers there over the years.

    Relaxing huge Park!

A park famous for its Waterfront walkway. This park is perfect for a long walks and just relaxing. There are benches facing the sea also, so you can just sit and admire the sea and the fresh and cool air from it. Be careful though with the hat as it gets very windy. There is a big ship caught my attention while walking in the park. This is called Hikaru Maru. This ship doesn’t sail anymore, and has become a museum and a restaurant. There are a lot of artist nearby drawing this ship. It was so cool and I feel inspired just seeing that.A nice day trip from Tokyo!
