Great mapo tofu

Sichuan is a Chinese cuisine restaurant in Niigata, and I would happily recommend the mapo tofu from here to others. It's packed with flavor, and you can get it in a lunch set with rice, soup, salad, pickles, and dessert for the best value. Unfortunately, though, they're closing permanently in mid-Feb, so if you want to try them out I suggest heading there over the next month.
