Jikoji

Beautiful, tranquil temple in Gosen

Jikoji is a beautiful, tranquil temple in the Gosen area of Niigata, and part of what makes it so appealing is the surrounding nature. The walk to the temple is lined with cedar trees, so I feel like it already gives off quite a spiritual feeling before you get there. The main hall of the temple is pretty big compared to some other temples I've visited, and that adds to the imposing (in a good way) atmosphere. There's a sizeable parking area near the walking area that leads to the temple grounds.
