Tamonin

One of the special ones

There are temples, then there are really special temples! Tamonin is one of the special ones! Located in a very rural, remote are of Tokorozawa on the border of both Kawagoe and Miyoshi, it is one of Saitama's more notable temples. One of the reasons is its tiger guardians. You can also see hundreds of miniature tigers, like the ones in the photo, displayed on the rails around the temple building. The temple is particularly known for its autumn leaves and peony, but they also have some beautiful hydrangea too.
